GUIDED MEDITATIONS
Meditations are conducted on various themes integrating heart-based connection to the Divine Source. Guided meditations help to slow down the mind chatter and channel its energies to heart-centred loving relationships with self and others. These range from inner child meditations, forgiveness to self and others, releasing resentments, hurt, guilt, anxiety, anger, self-esteem and self-image issues. These can be specifically customised to individual needs, revealing an appropriate spiritual perspective, thereby opening new levels of awareness and healing.
How do Guided Meditations work?
We think in images and pictures. When I say the word “cup”, you automatically think of a cup. The brain doesn’t distinguish between an actual experience and an imagined one. Energy goes with intention and attention. So when we intend something and bring our awareness to that, the energy flows there and required changes can be experienced.
Guided meditations direct the busy mind toward images and visualization. We are then able to bypass the conscious mind and reach the subconscious where all our memories, pain, hurt, regrets and heavy emotions are stored. The unhealthy images that we create in our mind about ourselves create pain and suffering, and guided meditations help to shift those images to the ones that are more congenial in nature.
Using intention and attention it is possible to change habits by inserting new positive habits in our subconscious mind. With continuous messages to the subconscious, the new habits get ingrained and change becomes possible.
Tapping into the subconscious mind, we are able to reprogram our mind and are then able to look at the same experiences in a different light. Many times compassion and forgiveness are experienced at that moment.
These meditations help to bring our emotional baggage into our awareness and help them release, one layer at a time. As our perspectives towards the situation and people change, we become free of the emotional baggage that is holding us down.
Through guided meditations, we are also able to shift our belief systems that are strongly held within our body. The conditioning is written not only in our brain neural pathway but in our cells as well. The energy in the muscles and cells holding the memories moves and is released. Hence, we feel energized and rejuvenated.
Guided meditations help cleanse and balance our chakras by allowing the energy to flow smoothly using intention and awareness.
Guided meditations will also bring us to the present moment and is an excellent way to train ourselves to come back to our centre when the mind starts to delve into the past regrets and fears of the future.
Guided meditations show us the power of our breath to anchor ourselves. Bringing our awareness to our breath keeps us centred.
They bring us back into our body and help us ground our energies. When the mind is occupied in multiple conflicting thoughts – all at the same time – guided meditations allow us to come back to our core and help us ground ourselves.
Guided Meditations allow us to open ourselves for more Divine Love to flow and slowly bring us in acceptance and a state of allowance. The heart centre starts to gradually experience a subtle shift and expansion.
In the awake state the ‘Brain’ normally remains in ‘Beta’ state while undertaking regular activities. Relaxation is an important part of guided meditations so after the meditation most people experience calm and peace within. Each and every part of the body gets relaxed. This is because meditations help to reach the Alpha and Theta brain wave patterns which relax us at the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels, where the aura energy rejuvenation and healing can take place.
State | Brain Wave Frequency (Cycles Per Second) | Associated with... |
---|---|---|
Beta | 14-1 higher | Awake and working state. Inputs from five senses. Perception of time and space. Logical Mind Dominant. (Left Brain very active) |
Alpha | 7-14 | Meditation, light sleep, Hypnagogia, increased intuition, visions, energy healing practices. (Left Brain activity reduced) |
Theta | 4-7 | Deep Meditation, Energy Restoring Sleep, Psychic Healing, Psychic Surgery, Prolonged Distance Healing, Hypnosis (Left Brain activity significantly reduced) |
Delta | Below 4 | Deep sleep. Left brain unconsciousness at Delta. (Left Brain very low activity) |
How long should you meditate and when
Ideally one should meditate daily for a duration of time in minutes equal to age in years. Meditation, healing and ‘mind conditioning activities’ are advised immediately after waking up, when sleepy after consuming lunch or immediately before sleeping at night.
