About The Author
I was born in North India to a conservative family. I spent my entire childhood in the city of Chandigarh until finishing my postgraduate degree. After getting married, I had theĀ chance to travel extensively with my husband and to live in many countries around the world. Experiencing and adapting to an ever changing multicultural environment helped me broaden my outlook on life considerably and opened me up to different perspectives. Bringing up two wonderful children and pursuing a career as a French language teacher, I have lived a very ordinary life as a mother, a wife and a teacher.
It was only after moving to the United States some years ago that I decided not to continue full time work, but instead allow myself to be immersed in quietude. I wanted to be with nature; I wanted to feel the time pass; I wanted to pause my life to feel the seasons, to see the colors of trees change, admire the beautiful sunrise in the midst of snowfall, to hear the chirping of beautiful colored birds in our backyard and above all, to feel deeply grateful to the Universe for its blessings as I realised that all the beauty I was experiencing was not my own creation. I realized that I was in love with this stillness. This experience has changed me in many, many ways.
Embarking on the clarity that the period of profound reflection brought me, I decided to further deepen my knowledge and understanding of spirituality and became a certified Reiki Master Teacher first in the United States and more recently in India as well. I now teach Reiki at all levels for healing and self-empowerment and integrate spiritual growth and awareness as a part of my practice. I am also a practitioner of Karuna Reiki, Access Bars and EFT, also known as Tapping.
I now reside in Auckland, New Zealand with my husband, Rajiv.
